What is Live Painting?
The process and performance of painting or creating art live in front of an audience.
What can having a live painter do for my venue/event?
They bring more people, make people stay longer, create a great show, and add to the atmosphere.
What do they usually do?
Every artist has their own unique set up and style of painting.
But most artists usually set up an easel or lean a panel against a wall and start
working on a blank piece at the beginning of the event and work on the piece until
the end or when it’s finished.
How long does it take?
I’d say the average amount of time for most artists is 3-5 hours.
But I have seen some artists finish pieces in 45 minutes and work on a few throughout
the night or even work collaboratively at events that last up to 16 hours.
What happens to the painting(s) that they create?
That is up to the artist and venue to decide.
Most artists would like the opportunity to sell what they create.
Does it cost money to get a live painter for my venue?
If there’s a budget for it, you should consider paying your live painters – as they are performers,
draw a crowd, keep patrons at a venue longer, and have their own followings.
If you can’t afford to pay for a live painter, Please consider offering them what you
can (i.e. gas money, parking, percentage of the door/bar, trade, etc)
Most artists will charge a fee for corporate or private events and events that charge more than $15 at the door.
If you are interested in a live painter, feel free to browse this site and contact
the artists directly, or let me know if there’s something specific you’re looking for and
I’ll see what I can do. This site is mainly a database, not really a booking agency.
